ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Everybody fantasizes about dating a celebrity. But what happens when the world finds out — and doesn’t approve?
That’s the situation Anna Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine’s characters face in “The Idea of You,” a Prime Video romantic comedy that premiered on Thursday. The two actors sat down with Atlanta News First’s Lana Harris to talk about the film.
The movie follows Solène (Hathaway), a 40-year-old single mother who catches the eye of 24-year-old Hayes Campbell (Galitzine), the lead singer of a hit boy band. The public catches on to their affair, kickstarting a frenzy and straining their relationship.
Hathaway said she was sent romance movie scripts all the time in her 20s but hadn’t revisited the genre in a while. When she read “The Idea of You,” she immediately wanted to be involved.
“I love it. I genuinely, genuinely love it,” she said. “I was really taken by Solène.”

Galitzine said the storyline is very human, touching on Hayes as a person instead of an icon.
“I saw a young man who really wanted to be taken seriously and who was looking for love,” he said. “Their relationship and their chemistry just jumped off of the page.”
